Responsibilities

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM)/St. Jude Global (SJG) at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (SJCRH) is seeking a Communications Coordinator to develop and organize a variety of communications within the department and externally.

 

 

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Recommending and developing communication strategies to GPM/SJG initiatives
  • Developing and writing special communications for the Department Chair and Director of Operations, including articles, presentations, talking points for outside communication initiatives/interviews and other needs as assigned.
  • Designing creative and effective newsletters, brochures, flyers, presentations, and other informational materials about GPM/SJG and its initiatives and projects for multiple audiences.
  • Serves as a communication expert for GPM/SJG, offering guidance on style, branding, visual layout, wording and methods of communications.
  • Working with team members to collect stories, pictures and other supporting information for GPM/SJG publications and/or annual reports.
  • Working collaboratively to design and write content for the GPM/SJG website.
  • Working both independently and collaboratively on a variety of projects.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, public relations, journalism, English or a related field required
  • Master's degree preferred

Minimum Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience in business communications, journalism, PR, communications or similar field with excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent PC and design skills are essential.

  • Must have demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects/work initiatives.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the international and health care arena.

  • Fluency in Spanish.

  • Project management.
