Summary

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a new and growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the mission of taking St. Jude to the world by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

Responsibilities

GPM is seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator to assist in the design, coordination, implementation, and oversight of projects and initiatives within and for the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) and St. Jude Global (SJG). This pivotal role serves as a section/project team lead and acts a liaison to other members of GPM and SJG and its collaborators.

 

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Designing, coordinating, and implementing regional, global, transversal, or project-based initiatives.
  • Communicating project plans and incorporating appropriate input from all relevant parties.
  • Conducting risk assessments and planning to mitigate risk and identify alternate plans.
  • Developing project narratives, scopes of work and tracking timelines and deliverables.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress to departmental leadership.
  • Utilize project management tools for successful execution of projects.
  • Providing oversight of project activities and assessing impact of initiatives.
  • Providing suggestions for improvement including development of quality measures.
  • Ensuring alignment with SJCRH, GPM and St. Jude Global strategic plans and missions.
  • Organizing in-person and online meetings and workshops.
  • Maintaining project-related schedules.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field is required
  • Master's degree is preferred

Minimum Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience and expertise in complex project management
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook Calendar tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

Preferred Experience:

  • Fluency in a second language preferred
  • Experience in an international setting and with project management methodologies preferred
  • Supervisory and/or team coordinator experience preferred
  • Clinical background is preferred, research experience is a plus
  • Cultural Sensitivity is a must
