The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM)/St. Jude Global (SJG) at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (SJCRH) is seeking a Research Informatics Analyst 1 in the Information Services Team of Global Pediatric Medicine to gather and assess user requirements and develop the required tools and solutions in the support platforms to meet the clinical and general research needs of the department.  Duties will include development and post-implementation maintenance of solutions. Serves as the primary individual responsible for the technical design of studies in the institutional clinical trials management solution and departmental data collection and survey solutions. Ability to work with and support a broad range of technologies is a must.  This key team member will interact with faculty and staff within GPM/SJG and must be able to foster trusting relationship with colleagues and clients.     



The position is responsible for:


  • Participating in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of new and existing studies in the institutional clinical trials management solution and departmental data collection and survey solutions
  • Advising, training and assisting faculty and staff in the use of the institutional clinical trials management solution and departmental data collection and survey solutions.
  • Serves as an information technology expert for GPM/SJG, offering guidance on technology selection and design.
  • Working collaboratively with other GPM team members to gather requirements and work with other technology teams on campus to implement and maintain required technologies and services.
  • Working both independently and collaboratively on a variety of projects.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Heath Information Systems, or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Health Information Systems preferred

Minimum Experience

  • Three (3) years’ experience in business analysis, which includes system requirements, systems training, web development, business process design or technical documentation

  • Clinical database experience

  • Experience with survey/data collection platforms (e.g., RedCap, DatStat or Qualtrics)

  • Outstanding grasp of modern information technology concepts and processes.

  • Extensive experience with modern information technologies essential

  • Must have demonstrated ability to work and coordinate multiple projects/work initiatives

  • Excellent, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with visualization/analytics platforms

  • Experience in the international and health care setting

  • Experience working in the non-profit sector

  • Cultural sensitivity is a must
