Summary

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a new and growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the mission of taking St. Jude to the world by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

 

Responsibilities

Working under the direction of the Global Nursing Project Coordinator, the Global Nursing Quality Coordinator will promote quality nursing practice to enhance outcomes for children and adolescents with cancer, globally.

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary global health team to achieve St. Jude’s global mission to improve pediatric cancer outcomes through capacity building, education, and research, focusing on promoting quality nursing practice and programs.
  • Assessing nursing quality at St. Jude Global sites.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing quality and best practice initiatives.
  • Developing metrics and monitoring global nursing initiatives.
  • Tracking, analyzing and reporting of global nursing initiatives internally.
  • Preparing, submitting, and tracking external funding proposals and awards.
  • Working collaboratively to disseminate work through professional presentations and publications.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree Nursing, Health Care Quality, Public Health, or related field required
  • Master's degree is preferred
  • Plan to attain Certification in Professional Health Care Quality (CPHC) within 2 years.

Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years of experience in nursing, quality improvement, and/or project management required

Preferred Experience

  • Expertise in quality improvement, evidence based practice and implementation science methodologies strongly preferred.
  • Experience with statistical and project management software strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hospital accreditation and quality standards preferred.
  • Experience in pediatric hematology/oncology nursing preferred.
  • Fluency in a second language strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in culturally diverse settings and countries preferred.
  • Understanding/knowledge of and sensitivity to other cultures.
  • Strong project coordination and data management skills.
  • Analytical ability to create and analyze statistical data and various reports.
  • International travel and attending off-hour meetings required.

Other Credentials

  • (LC: RN TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state
  • (LC: RN ARK or RN MISS) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state

International Applicants

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program equivalent to a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. educational institution is required.
