Summary

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a new and growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the mission of taking St. Jude to the world by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

 

Responsibilities

The Global Pediatric Medicine Department is seeking a Coordinator of Cancer Educational Outreach to support the Cancer Educational Outreach Program Manager in coordinating community outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator with the ability to reach out to community partners and build a relationship of mutual trust. They will know how to organize lessons and make learning a meaningful process to a variety of audiences. The Coordinator for Cancer Educational Outreach will help cultivate an interest in science and promote healthy lifestyle habits in the community.

 

The Coordinator of Cancer Educational Outreach will be responsible for:

  • Serving as an integral member of the Cancer Educational Outreach team to conduct a variety of tasks including planning, implementing and evaluating community outreach activities.
  • Coordinating complex projects, presentations, meetings, communications, and events.
  • Developing innovative educational content related to cancer for a variety of audiences.
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to develop and promote the program at the local, national and international levels.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • MPH, MPA, MHA or graduate degree in related field strongly preferred.

Minimum Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience in educational or community outreach required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with various groups of people.

Preferred Experience

  • Fluency in a second language is highly preferred.
  • Cultural sensitivity a must.
