Working under the supervision of the Quality & Compliance Coordinator, the POC Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, designing, evaluating and implementing POC patient testing throughout SJCRH. Provides technical and administrative oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements related to POC including personnel, technical and quality requirements. Collaborates with and establishes effective relationships with Nursing and other leaders to maintain effective training and competency assessment programs and to ensure on-going compliance.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree or completion of medical technology program or equivalent in accordance with current federal and state regulations required

Minimum Experience

Six (6) years of experience as a Medical Technologist or equivalent position

One (1) of the six years must include recent (within 3 years) experience with point of care test management

Three (3) of the six years must include experience with method validation, quality control, training, competence assessment, writing and maintaining documents, inventory management and regulatory compliance activities

Required Credentials

Licensure in the state of Tennessee as a Medical Laboratory Supervisor-General or eligible is required

If eligible, incumbent must obtain supervisor license within 6 months of assuming position

Eligibility will be in compliance with current state of Tennessee, Division of Health Related Boards requirements

Other Credentials

Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or AMT preferred
